Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at a conference honoring international Arbaeen Husseini missionaries, held at the conference hall of the Amin Complex of the Seminaries Management Center, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Mufid Husseini Kouhsari welcomed Iraqi guests attending the event and paid tribute to the revered memory of Amir al-Mu’minin Imam Ali (peace be upon him), the holy city of Najaf Ashraf, and the martyrs of the resistance—particularly Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani.
Referring to the key role of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the close cooperation between Iranian and Iraqi missionaries, Kouhsari said the Arbaeen pilgrimage represents an unparalleled manifestation of unity within the Islamic Ummah.
“Arbaeen Husseini is a unique gathering where Shia and Sunni, Arab and non-Arab, Iranian and Iraqi, as well as followers of different cultures and even religions, come together to convey the universal message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him),” he stated.
The seminary official stressed that Arbaeen transcends ethnic, national, and sectarian boundaries, presenting Islam’s message of justice, dignity, and resistance to oppression on a global scale. He described the event as a clear example of “cultural and civilizational diplomacy,” emphasizing that the Arbaeen movement was formed not on the basis of political power or material interests, but on faith, love, devotion, and sacrifice.
“This great movement has the capacity to unite the Islamic nation and convey the message of Ashura to the world,” Kouhsari said, adding that Arbaeen is a continuation of Ashura and must remain governed by its spirit.
He underlined that the values of Ashura—sacrifice, awareness, and standing against tyranny—should guide the Arbaeen pilgrimage. According to Kouhsari, the massive Arbaeen gathering, led by Iraqi scholars and religious authorities and strengthened through cooperation with Iranian missionaries, has created an exceptional platform for explaining the truth of pure Muhammadan Islam (peace be upon him) and reinforcing unity between the Iranian and Iraqi nations.
Concluding his remarks, the Deputy for International Affairs and Communications of the Seminaries described Arbaeen missionaries as “ambassadors of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them),” who convey the global message of Ashura through their ethics, conduct, and speech. He expressed hope that this sacred path would help pave the way for the reappearance of Imam of the Age (peace be upon him) and contribute to the worldwide spread of the culture and values of Ashura.
